I installed this kit myself. I consider myself a very competent home project type but no plumber. I was able to succesfully install this kit and was impressed with the quality, especially of the valve parts. Do not expect to put this together if you are a novice however, you have to work some of it out yourself from limited instructions. My design complaint is the riser. The connection to the valve assembly is not very secure if there is any pressure involved. I have a lot of water pressure and with the flow restriction in the shower head there is a fair amount of pressure in the riser which is held together by friction in some places. Also the connection between the two parts of the riser leaks in spite of all my efforts. It is very hard to grip the lower part of the riser for this tightening effort without damaging it because there are no 'flats' on it. I am glad I made this purchase it is a good deal. I may contact Kingston and see if I can get a one-piece riser. One more note. Overstock says it does not come with a shower head, but I got a very nice one with my kit.
I bought this as a gift for my parents. I was pleasantly surprised at the beautiful craftmanship of this unit. It was extremely heavy duty and did come with a very nice shower head. It is a great value for the money.
This is a glorious faucet and shower! I highly recommend it, excellent value for the price. In fact, I didn't need all the parts but bought it instead of alternatives because it cost about the same but for a much higher quality product (Kingston Brass). I would also recommend opening the box and checking the contents meticulously. There are a lot of parts and boxes -- it comes with _everything_ -- shower riser, curtain rod, drain assembly, water supply assembly, faucet, personal shower, _everything_. Except mine was missing 2 pieces for the faucet and assembly instructions! Annoying, but with 1 follow-up, I received the missing parts from Overstock in reasonable time and in another, the instructions. For ease of assembly, I clicked 3 not because it was difficult to assemble as far as faucets go (actually quite easy once I figured it out), but because the instructions do not provide the detail needed for assembly -- I contacted Kingston Brass (very helpful) and received instructions via e-mail for a slightly different model and had to figure it out. But even these instructions did not provide the detail for attaching shower riser to the faucet -- figured it out from the parts. Just a heads-up for the novice, I would not think a plumber or someone with experience would have trouble figuring it out.
